Burden Lake has a rich history. With it's close proximity to Albany and Troy and it's pristine natural beauty, it became a popular destination for many people (including Teddy Roosevelt)
to get away to, without having to take too long getting there.
I am no historian and have no connection to the Sand Lake historical society. All articles contained here come from what stories I hear in talking with long term residents of the area, as well as information
found on the internet.
