Because of the divided nature of the lakes there are two lake associations.
Burden Lake Association
is responsible for lakes one and two. They keep tabs on lake water quality, striving to keep the lake free from milfoil and other invasive weeds. The association tries to help improve the quality of life around the lakes as well as the quality of the water. The association rents the triangle at the corner of Burden Lake Rd and Firs Dyke from the town and maintain it as a small park. This converted a local dumping eyesore to a lovely land mark.
Burden Lake Improvement Association
is responsible for lake three. They keep tabs on lake water quality and strive to keep the lake free from milfoil and other invasive weeds. The association maintains a clubhouse on the shore of lake three and hold many social events throughout the year.
